Burford - garden design - 2023

Creating contemporary, practical and useable spaces that respect and connect to their surroundings is central to most of our designs. This large garden in a rural village in Oxfordshire consists of several distinct areas and due to the scale, we are delivering our design in stages over time.

Our design focused on a large rear terrace for entertaining, a vegetable garden and a cottage-style garden adjacent to a newly-built guest annexe. Additionally, we were tasked with rejuvenating shrub borders, a pond and stream, and woodland areas in the wider garden. The clients were keen to bring a sense of cohesion and control to the garden whilst respecting the wider rural landscape, providing food and shelter for wildlife and opportunities for their young children to play and explore.
